Great idea!!! That would be fun...

I think my grandmother would be amiable towards winning, er I mean participating :)

We could have restaurants and individuals participate, and we could have an overall category, plus one for homeade versus restaurant.

UPDATE: Heh, she doesn't want to do it. Fine with me, we will keep it a family secret :)

I think this is a great idea! I'll help out in any way I can consistent with keeping a food critic's low profile. Maybe one of our restaurant folks would be willing to make a venue available?

Not as of yet. It's almost getting too warm outside. We will be taking them off of our menu for the spring.

I hope I will remember to revive this thread next Autumn. After a good bowl of chili, I likes me some chix and dumps. Yummo.

Let's do it!!!!!

by Dan Thomas » Sat Mar 24, 2007 1:25 am

I must concurr. It's getting too warm out to even think about something that is such a cold weather comfort food. With a little planning and if everyone keeps the idea in the back of their head, maybe this October or November we could have this event! Go Bisquick!

Maybe we could have this challenge in the fall as a charity event for Toys for Tots (or start something new like Chefs for Kids)

I don't make them, but I volunteer to be a taster. I'll even go pick some strawberries at Huber's to use for the challenge. Yummo.

Sorry, This was on another post but the Daves at Bistro New Albany are considering hosting this during the Harvest Homecoming. What a great time it would be. One of the big food draws of this great festival are chicken and dumplings from several different vendors. It seemed like a natural fit. See ya in October!
