Please count Tacia and I in. We might have a third (friend visiting from out of town), if you can hold a spot for her. I should know for sure by the end of the week.

OK the number I made reservations for was 25. They are really looking forward to having us, and 25 people works very well with the tables they have in mind, two large rounds that hold 12 each. One table might be a little tight, but they were quick to point out thats Chinese style. :)
I stopped in today and got a brief run down of the menu. There was a little issue in deciphering the menu the chef left. Im not sure if it was the handwriting or the fact that it was written in Chinese or a bit of both. From what we could gather it looks like this.

Traditional Taiwanese ten coarse feast

cold plate-beef tongue,tofu,wine marinated chicken,smoked fish
seafood soup
shell on prawns two ways
tea smoked duck
a lobster and garlic dish
small fish cooked in bamboo steamer
fish and mushroom rolls
special Chinese mushrooms with vegetables
some sort of dim sum
fruit
As I said, I didnt get a "detailed" menu, but from what I can see it looks great. They noted that this style of feast does not usually include pork and relies more heavily on items from the sea.
They will discuss how they want to handle drink orders, and it seems separate tickets for everybody on drinks is the way its going to go.
As some of the items are hard to source and will be brought in special for the meal, they asked me to put up a deposit. I dont mind doing that at all,,just please dont leave me hanging and not show up. Cool?

The menu sounds great! They were talking about the group when we were there this evening for dinner.

John, if it would make you more comfortable, we could take that on as an Official Business Hotbytes thing. Let me know if you want to transfer the deposit over.

Thanks Robin. Im really not that worried about it. I suppose I probably could of worded my post better. My Dad often describes me as uncouth,I guess it fits. In part I was thinking back to the ill fated Shelbyville Sergios offline. Many signed up, and in the end it was just Anne and I joined by a couple of odd balls from the forum.

Also,
Philip, after further discussions with the folks at Peking they are most comfortable with a group of 24. We are at the mark with a possible + 1 bringing us to 25. How about we go this route, if we get a drop out,or the possible +1 does not pan out than you will be bumped up to that spot. OK?

EDIT to add...welcome to the forum Philip. I thought I recognized your name from before, but I see you are only at one post. I guess I was thinking of somebody else. Anyway welcome. :)

OK, will do. Although Robin did just ball Dan out for thread bumping, but I think I can do it and still pass muster.

Did not bawl him out. Just expressed a pet peeve about bumping a thread with the solitary word "bump." All I ask is that you act like you're adding something of value to the thread, like, "Don't forget it's coming up, folks!"

I know it seems like a damfool nuance, but humor me, willya? :D

John,
Something has come up and I will not be able to attend. Give Phillip my slot. Thank you for your efforts in organizing.

I'm still up for the taco crawl down Preston though.
