ANTS

by Ellen White » Sun Apr 11, 2010 12:50 am

Spring = Ant invasion
I have Orkin. He has been here twice this week, but the d$%#^& ants are still getting inside my kitchen and now they're in my bathroom.
I have sprayed Raid, put out vinegar, and sprayed Lemon Pledge.
Any tips?

We recently had this same problem. We tried tons of different products and household solutions and nothing worked. Finally, a friend suggested that we try TERRO brand liquid ant baits and the ants were gone in just a few days. Now I will never buy/use anything else. They were a little difficult to find (we kept finding this other TERRO product that was a liquid you placed on a little square of cardboard), but I eventually found them at the Frank Otte on Bardstown Road.

IF you know how they are getting in, and I know this sounds crazy but use chalk. I had a problem with them getting in our front door. My dad said "draw a line of chalk, for some reason ants won't cross it". I said sure. But Dad is usually right, so I found some old sidewalk chalk and drew a thick line on my porch right in front of my door. They stopped!

I've also used fresh mint leaves, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. We have a dog that licks everything so I can't use anything toxic.

Good Luck.
