Acupuncturist

Does anyone know of one in the city they could recommend? Has anyone had any experience using one?
I have a friend that has bad, reoccurring gastric problems (no, he's NOT eating my cooking) and the medication given by the doctors has created their own bunch of nasty side affects. At this point he's willing to try almost anything.

I don't (personally) know of any acupuncturists, but wonder if your friend has a history w/hernias (or has he been tested for hernias)...I have a friend w/similar symptoms and that was his diagnosis....

Has he also tried to go gluten/casein free? I've been doing a lot of reading about it because of my son's speech issues. There are story after story about people that went gluten free and a lot of their problems resolved within the first 2 days. Personally, I'd probably want to shoot myself..but it would be better than being in horrific gastric pain.

Yes, he does have a hernia. They were hoping to treat the symptoms with medication rather than put him through surgery. Now it seems the medications have created WAY more problems than the surgery would have. At this point he's been on so many different medications it's hard to tell what the problem is .

I have a friend who uses Martha Graziano regularly and loves her. http://acupuncturists.healthprofs.com/c ... cky_511073 I once tried Dr Ming Li out on Preston Hwy, very traditional old school Chinese acupuncturist. Can't say it did me much good, but it was interesting if nothing else! :D

If the acupuncturist doesn't work out, he should look into Massage Therapy. One of my instructors at Louisville School of Massage, Chris Hughes (and his wife, Sherri), specialize in digestive health/belly work.

His information is:
Chris Hughes LMT
Balance in Motion Integrated Bodywork
7410 New Lagrange Rd. Ste 300
Louisville Kentucky 40222
502-412-3103

I hope your friend gets relief soon.
