A friend needs to find a twin bed or her grandson. Anyone have one thats ok and no longer needs/wants?

Try craigslist? That was my first thought. A quick search there yielded on posted on Feb. 1 for forty bucks. Not free, but pretty close. http://louisville.craigslist.org/fuo/1580823615.html

Also, try freecycle. freecycle.com Look for the Louisville group.
I've given away MANY things using this. I actually gave away two twin beds a few months ago. Sorry.
You can also ASK for stuff that you need. Believe me, people are always looking to get rid of stuff.
