I am so frustrated! I have, for some unexplained reason, lost my avatar. I want something fun (no offense, but the default ones are boring) and can't find anything that is small enough! I don't have software on my pc that allows me to resize. Anyone got ideas??? Every time I find one I like it's too $%^&*&^% big!

Try imageshack. You can upload a photo, image, whatever and choose what size to resize it to. Just click "upload options" and it has an avatar size option. Hope that helps!

Thanks! I was very excited. I tried it and this site keeps telling the URL is not valid. I just give up and shall remain faceless. The smallest Imageshack would let me go anyway was 100 x 75. Once again I must say AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Yeah Robin,
I also have no way to resize down as small as this site requires. I'm sure I could find something somewhere, but better ways to spend my time. (tried the recommendation above, and yeah, only goes to 75x100, but 80x80 required here).

Other forums don't have the stringent size requirements. But I'm guessing you've got no choice...

Definitely, no big deal. Maybe someday I'll find the right program...

We hold the avatars on this forum (and also on the wine forum) to a small size because in my opinion forums with big avatars look crappy. :D

However, there's abundant free, simple photo-sizing software out there. You guys have found one; Irfanview - http://www.irfanview.com - is another.

Also, if any of you get stuck, please feel free to get in touch with me by Email or PM - I'll gladly resize an image for you on request. It only takes a minute or two.

But then, nobody would know who I was! Plus, half the restaurateurs in town think that's really my picture. 8)
