Great dentists in Crescent Hill/St. Matthews?

by Robin Garr » Mon Jan 04, 2010 2:06 pm

I've got the references from this short discussion a while back,
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7340
but would like to reopen it. We're considering dentist-shopping, not because we aren't happy with our current dentist, but because his practice isn't covered by Mary's new dental insurance.

Convenience to Crescent Hill and St. Matthews is a big plus. Obviously, we're also looking for good chairside manner, painless work, excellent technicians, affordable billing practices ... you know, all the good stuff. :)

Has anyone tried the dentist's office upstairs in the building next door to Heine's on Frankfort? I know nothing about him, but boy, would that office be convenient. :D Of course, convenience is not the only criterion.

Nominations, pleez ...

I've been to Dr. Nasief a couple of times recently and found him to be quick, affordable (I don't have dental insurance) and very caring (he gave me his home number after fixing a particularly painful problem on a Friday). He's in a small house next to Shiraz at 2009 Frankfort and his number is 896-8623.

No complaints. What more could you want in a dentist?

Right of the top of my mind (I'm sure I will think of more.):
1. Lack of bad breath
2. Punctuality

We see Dr. Rebecca Tafel, corner of St. Matthews Ave. and Westport Rd, in the shadow of Trinity High School's football stadium. So far, we have seen 4 different dentists since we moved here, and like her and her staff the best.

I see Dr. James Elias. His office is just a couple doors down from Limestone. I would highly recommend him and his staff. He was recommended to us by a coworker of my wife, and we all think he does a good job.

I think the biggest testament to his chairside manner is his demeanor with our 3 year old and 5 year old.

My 2 cents,
-Pete

My entire family has been seeing Dr Naisef for years. He is a dying breed for sure! When my elderly aunt and uncle could no longer drive, he went to their home. Who does that these days????? NO ONE! He plays oldies rock and bebops and sings while working on your teeth. The office staff is super (his assistant is his daughter, Autumn). Once, he was giving me a root canal and a friend of his wandered in to say hi. This particular friend made American Indian flutes and wanted to show off one he had just made. I got to listen to live American Indian music while getting a root canal. This is not going to happen anywhere else in town. I wouldn't go to another dentist if it was free! My daughter goes there and my granddaughters go there, making 4 generations!

This thread reappears occasionally, and I never hesitate to recommend my dentist, Dr Robet Mann. I've been a patient of his for almost 28 years, and there's a reason - professional care using state-of-the art technology. No American Indian flute music, unfortunately, but HD video monitors in the exam rooms, where I can keep up with CNN or MSNBC while having plaque removed.
