Louisville Light Shows

Has anyone been to Lights Under Louisville or the Light at Long Run Park. What did you think of it/them? Are either worth the trip?

This may sound like a stupid question Lois but I was wondering how temp controled the area is? I want to take a friend to see the exhibit but he has some mobility problems. My car is eeeteee tiny making viewing out the windows without screwing your head around and stooping a problem. I was thinking of putting the top down (once we arrive at the cavern) and cranking the heat up in the car. What do you think?

We went to see the lights at Long Run last weekend. I was hoping the displays would be bigger and more elaborate. To be honest, it was kind of disappointing, considering that many neighborhoods have much more impressive displays. If donating to charity is your prime goal, then it's worth it, otherwise, don't bother.

From what I remember reading the cavern remains around 60 all year. Thats pretty common with most underground storage facility's.

I haven't been myself, but two co-workers have reported Lights Under Louisville being overrated.

My son's speech therapist just told me they went to the Lights under Louisville and loved it. She said her kids loved it and there really was a lot to see.

I can't remember exactly where it is, but there is a neighborhood just off Frankfort, across the tracks, sort of between the water treatment facility and where Frankfort and Lexington merge. Great neighborhood decorations. I thought it was pretty spectacular and brought friends back by there. They agreed.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? The street names?

Nimbus,

Could you be thinking of Hillcrest Ave? I know they do a big street long celebration for Halloween, but I don't know if they do something similar for Christmas - don't go down that street very often cause that's where all the other cars go. But the Halloween spread has always been a must.

There doesn't seem to be too many light displays on Hillcrest this year. However, there is one heck of a display on Iola Rd. a little further up Frankfort Ave. towards St. Matthews. I think they took their cue from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
