Christmas lights .....

by Becky M » Sun Nov 29, 2009 10:54 pm

It is one of our family traditions to take the children out looking at christmas lights, but over the years we have noticed that less people decorate. Is there any place in Louisville or this side of the river that is known for nicely decorated houses?

We used to do Lake Forest....unfortunately, the last few years, it seems that the displays have been in a state of decline...

There's an area off Rudy Ln, right around the elbow of it, that used to be very decorated every year. Not sure if it is any more.
My old neighborhood in St Mathews, the Springlee area, used to do a nice job decorating. In recent years there has been such a turnover of new homeowners I don't know if they still do or not.

It is a giant cave located under the zoo. It offers storage and office space.

Hillcrest does a nicce jod of decorating, not as over the top as Halloween, but still nice. If you are going out Westport Rd there is my favorite Christmas house in the Ville, to the right a little past the expressway underpass. It is decorated with probablt 100 of the air filled decorations-it's an amazing jumble of fun.

Apparently, Long Run Park is full of Christmas displays this year, but you have to pay to get in. All proceeds go to Crusade for Children.

You can buy tix here: http://www.whas11.com/community/The-Gif ... 53182.html.
