Off-topic: Anyone else having ATT iPhone 3G problems?

by Robin Garr » Wed Nov 11, 2009 1:13 pm

Is anyone but me having problems using iPhone for voice or data on ATT's 3G network in Louisville? I can't get data (except on wifi) or make or receive calls. GRRRR!

(I'll move this out of the foodie forum after I see if I'm all alone in this ... )

No, but we had weird problems with our AT&T DSL last night.

Last night I could only get on the Edge network at home when I'm always on 3G here. That seems to have been corrected now though.

I had the same problems about a month ago. I took my phone to the apple store and they told me to upgrade to the newest iPhone software and it fixed all of my issues. I am replying to this on my phone on the 3g network so it all seems ok on my end. I think the latest upgrade is 3.12 but if you already have that upgrade then I am no help at all!

I can make and receive calls, and 3g service appears to be working for me, but VERY slow (and has been since maybe Monday?).

I should probably run it through iTunes to see if any updates are out there I need.

It has been behaving oddly for a day or two now.

No problems at all other than my iPhone seems more prone to dropping calls as I head east on Brownsboro Road than my old cell phone. I really can't believe there was life prior to my iPhone.

I called ATT Customer Service, and to my pleased surprise had a very good experience. Almost instant access to a competent, helpful human, woohoo!

Turned out that turning the phone off and back on again resolved the problem. Then I decided to plug it in for a synch, and guess what? There's a brand-new iPhone OS upgrade available, and one of the bugs it purports to fix is this one. (I do try to keep it up very close with the latest and greatest OS, by the way. In addition to bug fixes, there are often really nice "easter eggs" that make a great smartphone even better.

I'll move this out of the foodie forum now. Thanks, folks!

Robin,

Saw a couple of black helicopters in the air over Buckner last night...That and I noticed some crop circles out in Shelby county today...both of which might explain your lack of signal. Where is Art Bell when you need him.
