car rentals?

by Becky M » Wed Sep 30, 2009 3:19 pm

I might have to make a trip to Texas. I am thinking of renting a car for the trip. Does anyone know how much you actually save with AAA, or if there are any other types of deals out there? I would be needing the rental for a total of 2 weeks.

Becky,

I hope everything is OK down in Texas.

I don't know the answer to your question, but do know people who have gotten pretty good deals at Enterprise - especially when it is not an emergency. It wouldn't hurt to call them and ask around. And don't hesitate to ask if they can do better than their first quote, or what kinds of tie-ins they have that would allow you more of a discount.

PM me if you need help.

A two-week car rental can get pretty pricy. If you have an entertainment book, they have tons of discount coupons. Sometimes car dealers have good deals on longer rentals. I know Oxmoor Toyota has rented cars.

Thanks for the information Charles and Jeffrey, i will do some calling around.

Jeffrey, things are so-so in Texas, my cousin passed and things are just sad. He has already been buried, but if i can swing going over there, the trip is LONG overdue.

Dear Becky, sorry to hear of your loss.
I have had very good luck w/ Priceline for rentals. You can specify the type of vehicle you need. Hope this helps.

Take care-- how was your date ????

Thank you for your thoughts Jeffrey and Paula. I know he is out of pain and in a better place than here... but it is my selfish flesh that wishes he was still here. He passed away in Texas where all of my family is i spoke to him on the phone but did not see him. That is also making it hard. ........

Paula, our date is scheduled for October 10th. It is a bit away, but because i have to budget and schedule, i was planning early. Actually, i think we are going to go to Brownings, :) :) :) .
