World Fest

by Madeline M » Tue Sep 01, 2009 4:56 pm

I have seen several ads for World Fest and fortunately haven't missed it! (I tend to find out about things the day after they happen) Is it worth going to? Being new in town, I have no idea where "the Belvedere" is...is that the waterfront area downtown? I was hoping for a map of the festivities on the city's website, but no luck! Any stand out foods to try?

DEFINITELY GO! I love it.

The belvidere is easy to miss unless you have been there before. Driving down Main Street, 5th street will be on your left and the belvidere will be on the right. But from the road, all you will see is the walkway leading up to it. I am sure this weekend you will be able to follow the crowds or there should be signs. It's literally RIGHT BEFORE the Center for the Arts.

World fest is awesome. Great food. I plan on camping out next to the kebab stand.

i have never been there either, and am thinking of heading out there. It will be nice to look for the Mexican and Puerto Rican areas.....

My mother-n-law used to live in the Iroquis Park area. There was a festival sort of thing that was held in a parking lot of a Valu-Market.....it was like a celebration of cultures. Is this the same event? Or am i completely confused......

Becky, I believe that this is the same event and it has grown so much that they moved to the Waterfront.

See my WorldFest post on the Restaurants Forum ( I didn't see this one until now). Hopefully we'll get some good suggestions on what to eat!
