Free Cat to a good home

by JustinHammond » Thu Aug 13, 2009 7:27 pm

My friends have a cat that has turned anti-social/anti-children upon the birth of their child. The cat is about 8 years old and in need of a good home. Let me know if you are interested and I will get you their contact info.

sorry i can't take the kitty. i would like to make a couple suggestions, though. cats are actually pretty social animals for the most part. has it been more than a few weeks since they brought the baby home? when i took my cat with me to a new place (where we would be living), it took her at least a few weeks to get comfortable with the new situation, the dog, and the new people in the house. at first, we were certain it wasn't going to work out. over time, she slowly calmed down and was fine. also, if in the end they are unable to find a home for the cat, it sounds crazy but a solution might be to bring home a kitten. before adopting my cat, i did a lot of internet research about cat ownership and many sources said that two cats are almost always better than one. this gives the cats someone to play with and cuddle up with when their humans are otherwise occupied. it can keep them from getting into trouble such as trying to get out, getting into places they don't belong, scratching, etc.

good luck to your friends!
chi mangia bene, viva bene.

amen.
