Wow !!! That was/is some rainstorm. Becky's place of business flooded...The accounting dept (where she works) is in the basement which is now flooded with about 18 inches of water. Everyone OK out there ?

It got quite ugly where I work, but no harm done, as far as I can tell. I'm wondering if we're sticking around for the entire day, or if we're going home early, as I've heard it's supposed to get much worse this afternoon. Who knows?

I work at UofL, which I'm sure all of you have seen on the news. My house and vehicle are fine, though.

I tried a couple of times to cross the river and go to work but, darn my luck, all access points from Jeffersonville were flooded (10th & Spirng, several intersections on 8th Street, Court Avenue and Spring). I eventually gave up and came back home. Spent the day watching my street flood and keeping an eye on the local news. Decided this afternoon to rustle up a pan of lasagne and invited a friend over to join us for dinner.

We got lucky as the rising waters never reached our property.

Hope the rest of you are safe as well.

Does anyone know if the main library was insured for their hugh loss? How does that work? It kills me that such a valuable resource for the public was so hard hit.

Got four feet of water in my basement, it's been quite a job cleaning it out and getting all the ruined things out to the curb.

Most Metro Agencies are in the self-insured pool. They pay an agency to adminster the Workers Comp, but i do not know what they do for the Library as far as that tyoe of loss.
