forced to get rid of my kitty

by Jessie H » Sat Jul 18, 2009 12:18 am

this might not be the best place to bring this up, but i guess i trust the people on this forum more than i would some random person on cragislist. i was living with a roomate last year when she decided to move back to meade county to help her parents run a business. i couldn't afford to live on my own so i moved in with my boyfriend. our place does not allow pets so my cat, ruby went to live with my dad. now dad is having a baby with his girlfriend and she does not want ruby around when the baby comes. so i'm looking for a home for ruby.

she's a little over a year old and had her shots and distemper and luekemia tests and spay at the snip clinic this spring. she is not declawed. she has short hair with black gray and brown stripes and really pretty spots on her hips. she's quite sweet and affectionate. when she was a kitten, i trained her with a squirt gun not to jump onto countertops or tables. she's always been an inside cat but dad says he has let her out a few times and she always comes right back when she's ready. she can get along with both large and small dogs, as well as other cats and kids, too. she never misses the litter box. i wish more than anything that ruby could just come live with me but it isn't possible. if you are a cat lover and think you could give ruby a happy and loving home, please contact me. here's my email: jessipoo84@yahoo.com

thanks for reading :)

Apparently the kitty has only one bad habit.

The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

yes i think i do have a pic or two of ruby when she was smaller. she's still a petite little cat though and i'm pretty sure she won't get much bigger. let me see if i can find one...

Jessie, I really hope you can find the kitty a loving home! She looks so sweet, I want to adopt her RIGHT NOW, but I'm afraid our house has its quota of feline friends and then some. :(

Re: forced to get rid of my kitty & KHS question

i've got my fingers crossed! if anyone knows of another local site i might post this on, i'd love to hear about it. as i said, i'm trying to avoid craigslist for finding her a home just because it seems so impersonal and random. does anyone know if the humane society can assist someone who can no longer keep their animal in finding their pet a new home?

I don't know about the Humane Society, Jessie, but try the Shamrock Foundation, http://www.shamrockpets.com
(502) 585-3220.

"The Shamrock Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to end pet overpopulation, reduce the number of companion animals destroyed in local shelters, and to save or enhance the lives of animals in need in our community. This is accomplished through spay/neuter, education, emergency medical assistance, rescue, foster care, and the adoption of pets into loving lifetime homes. We are a group of highly committed, unpaid volunteers who have a passion for our mission and its goals."
