Graduation gift ideas??

by Kim H » Mon Jun 22, 2009 5:59 pm

My niece/god-daughter is graduating from high school this week, and I've been racking my brain trying to think of a cool gift to give her that she will keep. Something personal, special, not just money that will be gone by Saturday, but something that might mean something to her. She's a great girl, we have a special bond, and a wonderful big sister. (her sister has autism, so she's really had to step up as the big sis). Any suggestions? I'm hitting a wall.

Some towels that have her name on them. Great gift for our girls for their dorm.

My good friend's son graduated and i was stumped. We eventually got him a docking station for all his things. Those really nice looking one that have spaces to lay your little gadget on, got him a black very manly looking one.

But after i read your post the first thing that came to mind was, CHARM BRACELET. You could add a nice little charm having to do with graduation, and then since she is your god-daughter you can add to her charm bracelet with gifts at other special occasions; Christmas, Birthdays, or other special accomplishments.

Oh, Kim, I really agree with Becky's suggestion of a charm bracelet. I have three. My first one got started fifty years ago. I think it is better than a scrapbook for bringing back memories.

That's a GREAT idea, Becky!!! Perfect! Something sentimental, and like you said, I can build on it throughout the holidays for years to come. Love it! Going with that one, thank you so much!!!! :)

Oh, I absolutely love it! New question, maybe I should start a new post, but any idea where is a good place to get the bracelet and the charms? I was trying to avoid jewelry stores due to cost, but after an online search of Walmart, Costco, and Service Merchandise, I'm not seeing what I want. I may have to go to a jewelry store, because I don't want anything that seems cheap, but still don't want to break the bank. Thoughts anyone?
