It probably won't be that hard to prove with your vet records and pictures. The stupid lady will have no proof of ownership, no vet records, no metro license which is against the law.

Here's a picture of my babies, hoping yours comes home soon! :D

We rescued a dog two weeks ago and he came with a "micro chip"
I highly recommend getting your dog "chipped" when you get her back.

I would ask the"stupid cow" if a "Louisville Slugger" means anything to her!

I'll go with you and I will bring "Sam" if you like! Image

I got my baby bacK!!!!

by TanyaD » Tue May 22, 2007 2:36 pm

YAY!!!!!! Thanks to Ed V. and his connection at the Police Department, I just had Bridget returned to me!!!!!!!!! :D

The police came to my house and I gave them a flyer and the woman's address, and they went over there and retrieved her for me. She is a couple of pounds fatter (Lord knows what they've been feeding her), she was obviously bathed and brushed, and they trimmed her whiskers (??!!!), but she is doing fine. She was more than ecstatic to see her brother, George. The woman said they found her and had no idea she was someone else's dog (Gee, I guess the collar and tags were not a dead giveaway, you big liar!), but I really don't care, I am just happy she is home again!!! :D

Thanks again to everyone for your ideas and support--I will definitely look into getting her and George microchipped in the near future.

Wonderful news! So glad she is home where she belongs.

I will bet the "trim" was an attempt to disguise her. Why do people believe they are entitled to something just because they see it?

I haven't posted on this thread, but I sure have been hoping you'd find your baby. What a strange thing for someone to do, especially given all the flyers, etc. Maybe there is some sort of mental illness involved? I would still be very ticked, just thinking outloud. But so glad you were able to retrieve your baby, and awesome input from Ed to 'get it done'!!

What wonderful news, and what a stroke of luck that your neighbor recognized her and clued you in!

Congratulations, and welcome home Bridget.

:D Tanya! Just got back from out of town and see you have your doggie back home! I am so happy! We are home quite late and our doggies are still in the kennel. I really miss them. Being a softie, now that Bridget is back and safe, I started feeling sad that, as you or someone else said, there are precious former pets being euthanized daily. This "lady" does sound lonely if/since she took your doggie. Then she took apparently good care of her except for overfeeding her. Strange. If would be nice if all the lonely folks out there who could take care of a pet would save some of those who are a day away from dying for no fault of theirs. They die a very uncomfortable death by carbon monoxide. The KHS said they were working on getting gov't permission to use shots to put them down which would be much less painful for the animals. I just love gov't bureaucracy....NOT! The last word I got was that they hoped to have the gov't go-ahead in June. That doesn't cover the "Pound" tho. We rescued our Eddie, a 5 year old Border Collie/Sheltie mix a year and a half ago from KHS and he has given us such joy. He most likely was going to be put down since he had several health problems. He just had eye surgery and he is fine. He's my big teddy bear!
