Tell me about IdeaFestival

by Steve A » Mon Jun 15, 2009 4:04 pm

My name is Steve and I'm a geek.

Now that I have that out of the way, I've been reading about the IdeaFestival in the Restaurants Forum here. I googled the event, and it looks like it might be a great learning experience, and possibly a good excuse for us to take an early fall visit to Louisville.

From what I've read I have the impression that IdeaFestival is about science and technology with a
skosh of pop culture and futurism. Is this the case?

I'm familiar with the TED and have attended PopTech here in Maine. If anybody here's familiar with either, would you say IdeaFestival is similar?

Steve,

I'm not familiar with the two conferences you mentioned but I've been to a number of Idea Festival events and I highly recommend it, particularly if you pair it with some foodie activities.

The schedule was posted on-line this morning- you can see it and register at http://www.ideafestival.com. PS see the thread on Idea Festival- Bourdain coming to Louisville.

You'd love it, Gary! Great combination of renowned speakers from every area ( technology, arts, humanitarians, political, you name it) all right here in Louisville. I try to take a day off work and attend several talks- and go to the Taste of Innovation event. I think it's one of the best tasting events in town- and it's only $20.
