Apartment search help needed

by David R. Pierce » Fri Jun 12, 2009 11:27 am

My son is looking for his first apartment. He'd prefer Highlands, Old Louisville, Clifton. He needs a two bed room unit. Can anyone offer assistance in finding a nice unit?

I'm in Crescent Hill/Clifton.

Our apartment is dated for sure, but it is HUGE and we have free heat in the winter! Plus it is only 600 a month for 1400 square feet with 2 bathrooms. I think it is the best bargain in town.

The neighbors are great--but bit older, but all very nice and we watch out for one another.

PM me if you want more information.

My daughter lives on Alta, just a block from Cherokee Park. When I was visiting her last week, I noticed a building on the corner of Cowling and Alta that had a sign out saying 2 bdrm unit for rent. It 's a very nice neighborhood, quiet and convenient.

David, there are a few places available in the apartment complex where we live on Eastern Parkway. 5 minute walk to bardstown rd and tyler park. It is a nice building (courtyard, new hardwood floors, new windows, and overall pretty good tenants). I can PM you details if you are interested.

David, we noticed a house on Bayly (200 block) this morning with a "for rent" sign. It wasn't immediately clear if it's the whole house or just second floor - probably the latter, at the $495/mo listed price - but it looked pretty good. I'll write down the phone number if the sign is still there tomorrow, let me know if you want it.

FYI, it's 309 S. Bayly Ave., call 583-4550. $495/mo, but we noticed this morning that a smaller sign says it's only one bedroom. With air conditioning.

My girlfriend and her best friend live in an ivy-covered brick building on the right immediately after you turn onto Edenside from Bardstown. I think it's called Edenside Apartments, but I'm not sure.

The location is amazing, the apartment is completely updated and has in-unit laundry, a dishwasher, and two bathrooms, with water and hot water (I think) included in the price.

I think they only pay $800 a month, and the utilities are practically negligible.

If you're interested, there is a big sign on the side of the building with a number to call, but I'm not certain if there are any vacancies.
