I have a friend in Shelbyville who cooks a meal of Things that I wouldn't think of eating for many of her friends from the Fish and Wildlife Department. People who are exposed to these critters in the wild don't have any problem cooking or eating them!

My stepfather used to work for the railroad with a particularly bad tightwad of the dumpster diving variety. Now I love to save money more than anything. I get more pleasure watching my savings account grow than I do from spending money and more then one piece of furniture in my home has come from the side of the road--but I draw the line at food.

Anyway, this tightwad loved scraping dead animals from the front of the train and taking them home for dinner.

His poor, poor wife.

When we lived in MN quite a few of the VFWs, Legion Halls, etc used to have wild game dinners (or "beast feasts" as we used to call them)...As a result I've tried more than my fair share of strange meats. I did however draw the line at (full body shudder) beaver and rattlesnake (ewww)

I'm all for saving money, but if it has to scraped off of a vehicle, or the pavement, I'm not eating it. Call me highfalutin' if you want to! ;)
