Looking for a home

by carla griffin » Tue May 05, 2009 11:27 am

I need to find a new home for one of my cats. I have 2 and my condo association only allows one and they've decided to be a stickler about it. Anyway, he is a neutered, male still with claws - although he's never scratched anybody. He's ginger and white Manx (no tail) and has an extremely sweet disposition. He's very affectionate and loves to cuddle, He's healthy but has had no shots because he is an in door cat, never goes out or comes into any contact with other cats or animals. Very personable, will answer you if you speak to him. Doesn't smoke, drink or cavort with loose women. No bad habits sometimes noted with male cats.
I will miss him dearly but I'm in no position to move or to argue with the condo association.
Can anybody please help and offer him a loving home?

Have you discussed this with the Condo Association? If the mono-cat regulation was in force when you moved in, and they let you in KNOWING you had two cats, that could constitute a waiver on their part and you could have grounds to fight it (especially if it's in writing)....that notwithstanding, I'm afraid I can't offer a safe haven for your cat....we live with a Tibetan Spaniel who rules the house with an iron paw and I don't think he would tolerate any potential usurpers to his throne.

John thank you for your advice at any rate. This is a kind of trickle down situation from other condo owners taking advantage of the 20 lb dog limit with a couple of 80lb dogs. I don't think anyone would have said anything about their oversized dogs had they been willing to clean up after them. Now the association is bringing the weight limit and pet number into play. (Heavy sigh) Everyone is being made to comply.
I can understand your spaniel tending his turf! After all, a pup's home is his castle too!

Carla,
I would love to help you because my sweet Ebbie (rip) was a manx and they are one of the most loving breeds there is. Alas, I now have Sheeba, who is very territorial and does not play well with others. It would not be a good fit for either one of us. I hope you can find someone because Manx cats are wonderful companions.

Thanks anyway Rebecca and thanks for the positive words about the breed. I've had cats my whole life and Ronnie Howard Has the sweetest disposition of all of them.
