Becky and I were on our way back from a weekend road trip yesterday and stopped by to visit John and Annie Hagan and take a little tour of their greenhouse in Mt. Eden. In addition to being great folks, John and Annie have put together a very nice family ran greenhouse operation. They carry a great variety of flowers and veggie plants and it's obvious the two of them put a lot of TLC into the operation because the quality of the plants is the best I've seen in Louisville (and we've been to a lot of greenhouses this spring). The hanging baskets are particularly beautiful and (with Mother's Day coming up) anyone looking for something for mom's back porch couldn't go wrong with one (or two or three) of their baskets. The greenhouse is located a short "Sunday Drive" outside of Louisville but for those of you who don't have the time for that you can find the two of them plying the Louisville farmers markets a couple of times a week. They are in St. Matthews on Saturday and another downtown location on Tuesday...John, help me out with the Tuesday location...that second sip of secret elixir was kicking in and I'm having trouble with my recall button.
We spend a lot of time on this forum talking about eating "original", well here's a perfect opportunity to plant "original". Give John and Annie's plants a try, you won't be disappointed.
