Getting to Germantown on parade day

At around 5pm this evening, is the best (and even possible) way to get across Broadway from downtown to take Main to 12th, take 12th south to Oak, and then Oak east? Thanks in advance.

Wouldn't I-65 from Chestnut to St. Catherine make sense, Michael? Or are you biking?

I was gonna suggest an alternate route going down Market almost to the stockyards, but although I can find a looong list of street closings, I can't find a stupid street closing MAP anywhere online, so I'm not clear on exactly how to finish the trip that way.

I imagine things'll be awfully congested at the west end of the parade route. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I remember I-65 being terribly backed up last year and was thinking that perhaps heading west and around might be better than east and around. Too bad the parade can't be the Saturday before or something.

Hope things worked out for you, Michael! I think Marsha is on the right track - get around the back of the parade rather than the front of it. Maybe Market to Baxter, then out Baxter to Barrett and cut through Ellison to Germantown? Depends on where in Germantown you're going, of course.
