Logo Contest - $125 to the design chosen

ATTN: Artists and Graphic Design Buffs:

After taking the past year or two off Becky and I will once again be taking to the competition BBQ trail this year. We intend to cook at least 4 or 5 contests in the KY/IN area and would like to start the year off with a new team logo. We are offering a $125 "prize" to the artist and/or computer whiz who creates the winning logo design.

The name of our BBQ team is "The Rolling Bones". We are seeking logo designs which will incorporate (at a minimum) the cartoon characture of a pig playing an electric guitar (preferably a Telecaster, since I'm a Fender guy)...Think "Porky Pig" playing an "axe" and you've got the general idea. If someone gets on a roll and wants to include the entire band in their design, that would be great (e.g. another pig playing a snare drum, perhaps a cow playing bass, etc that would be great...if you are creative I'm sure you get the flick).

The design should be of sufficient resolution that it can be duplicated on a banner or other media. The design should NOT contain copyrighted material that you are not authorized to reproduce and the final product will belong to our BBQ team for as long as we choose to use it. Please let your graphic design and/or artist friends know about this opportunity. Note: This is an honor system thing...No one is going to rip off your design.

'Preciate your forwarding this along. We had a "professional" artist down in GA quote us a price of $150 for this design but we figured "what the heck" let's see if anyone in the local community has an interest.

We'll be cooking the IN state championship in mid-June (Jeffersonville - On the River, with musical guests Da Muddcats, V-Groove, The Travelin' Mojo's, Walter Lay, LaMont Gillespie and Marilyn Kington ) should be a real hootenanny (do people say that anymore ?) We hope to unveil a new logo then...So tell your son he could be famous...or should I say "infamous" <G>

Passed this along to my son-in-law who is perfect for this project besides being a great graphic designer, he loves all things pork and plays guitar. I know he can come up with something very cool.

Well let's see...There's Becky, me, Mick, Keith, Ronnie, Charlie...But I'm thinking Mick and the boys might be a bit busy to join us on this tour. So basically it's just me and Becky and a few "honorary" members this time around.

We kick off our tour at "Smokin' on the River in Jeffersonville IN on June 19th and 20th (opening acts Da Mudcats, V-Groove, etc, etc). Soooooo let's call May 19th...a month before the "gig" as the "deadline" (I hate that word...for whatever reason).

I must say I'm really surprised that so many folks have expressed an interest in helping us out (via email, etc). If everyone comes through we might have to conduct a poll.
