Btown Rd Farmers' Market & Arbor Day

by Tina M » Fri Apr 03, 2009 10:59 am

Tomorrow morning will be busy busy. The Bardstown Rd. Farmers' Market will have their opening day.

And the Highlands Arbor Day giveaway is happening. I think I'm going to arrive as early as possible to pick up a redbud. We've lost so many trees this year that our back yard looks like it shrunk. Instead of an alley between our street and the street behind us, we have a little uphill overgrown area. It used to look like a forest. Now we all we can see is the concrete foundations of our uphill neighbors. We need to remedy that situation.

Not to be the bubble buster...but Bardstown farmers market never really shuts down all the way. Some of the meat vendors, for example, are there all year.Weve been going the last few weeks with cold crops, pansies,a few perennials, and some cold hardy hanging baskets. As Anne and I do other markets my Mom is the one who sells at Bardstown rd. Thanks for coming out and supporting local producers.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

I was talking to my daughter and she said that this year there is a sign posted that dogs are not allowed any longer at the market. Wanted to pass this along since this is something new and has not been the case in the past.
