We had a tree service who came to our door and offered to clean up the branches and debris for a much lower price than I had been quoted by another company. When the guy was trimming the branches that broke off, he realized that the tree was pretty much a total loss and quoted me another great price to take the whole thing down. He also said that he would stack everything neatly by the side of the road and people who sold firewood would come by with trailers and pick it up.
Currently, I have a huge pile (not nicely stacked) of wood from the trunk of our tree in the middle of the yard. What in the heck do I do with it? When do these illusive firewood collectors show up? Can I sell white pine wood to someone?
I know that we were more fortunate than a lot of people during this ice storm, but I am extremely stressed out by this tree. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. I am also irritated with tree services in general right now; they seem to take advantage of difficult situations.
Thanks,
Jennifer
