We'll definitely be there. Gotta stock up on my Cherokee Art Fair cups. I wonder what color they are this year. The purple ones are my favorite.

Was it just me or did this look alot like the St. James fair that has degenerated into a craft gathering? There was a substantial absense of artists...especially local artists.... The best thing I witnessed was the Kingsly's meat booth...UMMM....pork chops....

Artists

by Heather Y » Tue May 01, 2007 8:28 am

Craftsman/woman are artists.

What is your definition of artist?

I can tell you If I was a beer vendor, I would have made a mint.

The "old time art fair" has turned into the old time beer garden!

Yes, it did feel a bit like St. James, in the size of the crowd. There were more Craftspeople ( like always) than "fine artists".

I purchase "Fine Art" through Galleries, and auctions. I usually will not buy fine art pieces at a street art fair.

These folks are good at what they do, and they are creating keepsakes and memories for folks who come to these "shows".
Also, this is how a lot of these people earn a portion of their income!

These artists come from all over the region, and work really hard at what they do, and this time they were very disappointed that most people came to stand in front of their booths, completely ignore them and suck on their beers, and gossip!

Pork chops....hmmm.
