Story on WAVE about bad gas

by Paul Beede » Wed Jan 14, 2009 10:37 pm

I saw the teaser for this story last night, but didn't get the chance to watch it.

I get gas there at least once or twice a month, it's crazy! From what it sounds like though, it's just the 93 octane that was affected.

I never, ever buy gas at that dump. I've had a couple of shady things happen there in the past. Ever since they lost their BP "stripes" it has become one off the sketchiest gas operations I have ever laid eyes on. I could never quite put my finger on it, but from the people behind the counter to the clientele (nice neighborhood...I dunno?) that place make Dirty Kroger look like a country club.

Nice piece of land though. Perhaps it will be available soon?

I got gas with water in it once at the BP on Newburg Rd., across from the cemetary. (Granted, this was about 12 years ago.) Nonetheless, it turned me into a gas snob and I will only put Chevron gasoline in my car now.

I live out in Simpsonville and there is a rather large Pilot gas station with great prices..but everytime I put their gas in my car (believe me, i drive a 2000 Kia, nothing fancy) my check engine light comes on. I go get gas at the Texaco for about 1-2 cents more and it never happens.
