Westport area little store

by carla griffin » Fri Nov 21, 2008 8:00 am

I was out in the Westport area (past Goshen) and I ran across a local store called Knock on Wood. It's almost directly across the street from Will Crawford's Westport General Store.
It's a little home decor store specializing in primitive and wood furniture that's been remade from discarded windows, fireplace mantels, fireplace aprons , all kinds of stuff. I was really taken back by not only the quality of craftmanship but the cleverness of the pieces. She's got other stuff too, small items like candles , dish towels, the usual nick nacks but it's the furniture that caught my eye.
I have no ties to this place; just thought it was really cool and might make a nice little day trip for some of the formulites. If you go during the day there's a little tea shop next door and of course Will is opened in the evenings.
Yet another store to help us keep our shopping local for the holidays.

Do you remember what the price points were on the furniture? It sounds really interesting.

Well, there were all kinds of pieces but I thought the price points were well in line. $125 and up but I didn't price everything. I never remember thinking, "That's a bit pricey."
