What's your returns-watching strategy tonight?

by Robin Garr » Tue Nov 04, 2008 3:40 pm

I really don't want to watch it on Faux News, OR MSNBC or CNN. I want serious data! I'm thinking I'll grab my raw data from the New York Times election coverage page, which will have mouseover maps of every state where you can check returns down to the county level

And then have ... what ... running on TV in the background? PBS? BBC America? Without getting into a debate about who's got facts and who's got "spin," what Web and television resources do you folks plan to use tonight?

We've been invited to a couple of parties to watch the returns, but I'm not sure I'm up to watching them in mixed company where disagreements could surface. Most likely, glass of red wine in one hand. Remote in the other. I'll be compulsively flipping between CNN, MSNBC and the local stations and checking the internet during commercial breaks. I don't think we get BBC America, I'd like to see some foreign coverage and opinion.

I have more important things to do, such as celebrate my 6 year old niece's birthday!

However, I will turn on the news before bed, and will check out MSNBC, or whatever, in the morning, to see if we even have a winner, lol. I've cast my vote, nothing I can do now!

I may just do some chores around the house and then go to bed and find out in the morning :-) Then again, Robin's link looks good! I too want serious data and not speculation and more politicking! Great thing to do between doing laundry, balancing my checkbook, and packing to go out of town for the weekend!

I will be watching whatever channel they have on up at flanagans as they are doing an election pint night. Some superhoppy beer is on tonight apparently. After a beer and something to eat I'll probably wander home and us whatever I can find online to check for updates every once in a while. Most major sites have some form or another of map/results/realtime tracking or the like, so I'll just stick with the ap page here.

Probably stay home, but would like to know if there's an Obama party in Metro Louisville. I like the AP site, thanks for that.
I usually flip between CNN and PBS. I'm more interested in other states this time - Kentucky's lost (I still hope it's at least close) - except for the Senate race, I wish we could ditch Mitch.

It's AMAZING! Like erasing the last eight horrible years with a little bit of Windex and TP!
