Personally, I believe it's a natural cycle augmented and/or exacerbated by some "other" activities.

Yeah, I think the real question now is what's causing it, not whether it exists.

Personally, I'm not worried at all about Mother Earth - She'll be here long after us. It's all those coastal cities that are gonna be the next Atlantis (and the shift of Blue voters to Red states that will follow).
