Bark in the Park on Saturday, 09/20/2008

by Lois Mauk » Fri Sep 19, 2008 10:37 pm

Greyhound Pets of America/Louisville is going to participate in the Animal Care Society's "Bark in the Park" event at Seneca Park tomorrow (Saturday, 09/20/2008). The weather promises to be spectacular, so I hope some of our LouisvilleHotBytes friends will come by to check out all the activities.

This is our first time at this event, but the organizer's website at http://www.animalcaresociety.org/bip.php indicates there will be a 5K run and a 1K walk, as well as events for dogs and their families, including the Canine Idol Talent Contest, a Halloween Canine Costume Contest (owners encouraged to dress-up, too!), agility demonstrations, and many other activities to be conducted during the day-long event which will begin at7AM and last until 3PM.

Vendors on hand will include Pet CPR/First Aid Training, Frisbee demonstrations, K-9 Police Dog Unit demonstration, Obedience/Training classes, and Metro Animal Services' Mobile SPOT Unit. Veterinarians from Pewee Valley Veterinary Center will be microchipping for a fee of $30 from 9:30AM - 1:30PM. Children can get their faces painted, make craft item, choose a prize from the Duck Pond, or compete in the Kibble Throw. Vendors will be on-site to provide visitors with pet-themed merchandise and information.

Thanks.

I'm sorry I missed it. Animal Care Society is a great organization and I got my dog from them. The times I've taken him in the past the staff remembered him and gave him lots of love.
