Just got an email from First Book the company that sponspored this contest:

After a heated race with West Virginia and Nebraska, Kentucky won, claiming nearly 94,000 votes. Way to go, Kentucky! The books will be distributed in early 2009 to programs throughout Kentucky registered with First Book.
