Carpet Recommendations?

We are in desparate need of new carpeting for several rooms in our house. Our last experience (with the large carpet place on Hurstbourne at Shelbyville ) was such a hassle and disappointment that we are gun-shy. They "misplaced" the order, then made a mistake in the order, then missed the scheduled day by a week( with no notification) , all during construction so other things were dependent....The installer they used was great, but the rest was awful.

Anyway, anyone have a carpet place/person with good selection and prices, and great service? Please?

I've had a very good experience with The Carpet Connection. They are a direct mill purchaser, come to your house with all their samples, and installed within the week. Carpet has been down for 2 years and it looks brand new, despite the 2 kids, husband and cat. I was referred to them by several friends and family and all have been pleased. Deb, I've found MT Deering over in Jeffersonville to be pretty good as well. I recently had buy some new carpet for a bedroom due to a terrible staining accident and went with a remmant at Carpet Mart just so we didn't have to order the carpet due to delays. They have some nice very large roll remmants on their floor.

I was asked for a carpet recommendation yesterday and wanted to share our experience. We went with Carpet Connection ( Thanks Amy!) and were extremely pleased with the results. They were very prompt to come to our house with samples, quoted us a fair price (less than Lowe's) and arranged to have the carpet installed the following week! ( other places were quoting 4-6 weeks). Installers were great too! Overall, we'd highly recommend them.
