We're here...

by Steve P » Wed Sep 03, 2008 11:10 am

All,

Greetings from Oldham County. The move last weekend went very smoothly and we're now in the process of getting settled in. On the fortunate side of things we have done a lot of "downsizing" over the last couple of years, so there wasn't an unreasonable amount of packing and unpacking. On the UNfortunate side of things we're now discovering we probably should have saved a lot of the things we got rid of...thus if any of you are contemplating purchasing stock in Lowes, Home Depot or Sears, now might be the time to do it.

We had some friends help us with the move and since we don't get to see them that often we deferred the unpacking and spent the majority of our first weekend either relaxing amongst the boxes and bins or out on the town exploring. Friday found us having lunch at the Irish Rover Too, Saturday afternoon we took in some of the game at BBC and B.J.s Brewhouse and finshed the evening with dinner at the "Pig City BBQ"...All in all a very good first weekend in our new home.

Well, Becky is telling me that I need to get back to work getting these boxes unpacked. I just wanted to post a quick note saying "We made it". Thank you all again for making us feel welcome. We're looking forward to meeting many of you at the "Welcome to Kentucky" get together.

Our warmest regards.

Welcome Becky and Steve- it's a great town. I moved here three and a half years ago and really love the place.I'll be there on Sunday in spirit if not fact, but I am sure we will meet somewhere along the line.
Until then all the best.

Welcome to Oldham County! Your arrival is just in time to celebrate the new Walgreens in Crestwood as well as a new traffic light in front of the new Walgreens! You're gonna love Oldham Co in the fall. After you get unpacked and settled, check out Yew Dell Gardens for a quiet , contiplaintive stroll to refresh your hurried heads.
