Hi, David,

Yes, I will be riding again and encourage all to attend. This is not a timed event and there is no charge or registration.
Just show up and go as far as you want to. The bike rides are lots of fun and everyone travels at their own pace.
There is plenty of support along the route to the lower part of Iroquois Park and back to Waterfront.

I appreciated the past four rides into different parts of the city that I usually do not see.
There are a few places to stop and rest and it is nice to have some car traffic control along the way.
It is a relatively easy ride and I always enjoy the scenery, have a few laughs, and see different types of bicycles and neighborhoods.

A small "contingent" from the Drinking Liberally group will meet at 9:00 AM Monday at Waterfront Park.
Will the BBC trailer be there again?

You are welcome to join us and 5,000 other "bikers" on a very interesting journey.

Which route do you ride, or distance? I've only ridden a few times this year and am considering participating.

Come on and join the bike ride. If you can get others to join you that is even better!
The point of Hike and Bike is just getting people out to socialize and do some exercise at one's comfort level.
(Speaking of that, a good comfortable bike seat is essential on this slightly longer journey. )

I just have an old Pee Wee Herman type of a 3 speed bicycle and pedaled it on the past 4 rides.
I don't ride very much either but there was little difficulty with a similar 15 mile route to Iroquois Park last year.
(Even at my advanced weight and age 8) )

It appears this Labor Day route will run down 2nd Street, loop around Churchill Downs, and continue to the Iroquois Park turnaround. No one is obligated to complete the entire route and there are safe and closer turnarounds marked on the map.

If a bike needs some minor tweaks there are some bike "doctors" available around 9 AM on Monday at Waterfront Park and later at Churchill Downs.(No charge for this service!)
