Doing Well by Doing Good O'Sheas, Flanagan's and Brendan's

by Robert Carnighan » Sun Jul 27, 2008 4:46 pm

We would like to call attention to some good works being done by the O'Shea family of restaurants. In addition to above average pub grub and a frequently rotating selection of craft draft and bottled beers, the restaurants often donate all of their proceeds on Monday to a different charity. In the past we have been there for benefits to keep Breslin Pool open and for Katie Lassiter. On July 28, they will be helping Hailey and Carter Goranflo travel overseas for treatment of a terminal disease. On August 4, they will help the West End School, a free boarding school for under privileged children. I'm sure there have been many other events that we are unaware of. We have no connection with the restaurants other than enjoying them and have never met Tom O'Shea. We simply want to point out an outstanding example of giving back to the community.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza. D Barry

Bumped as a reminder that proceeds today go to the West End School.
