Tom Bennett is a friend of mine in Louisville. He was admitted this weekend to the ICU at Baptist East Hospital and diagnosed with a rare blood disease called TTP. The reason for this email is Tom is in desperate need of AB- plasma for his treatment. This is the most rare blood type (1/167) and the Red Cross has only 4 units available. Tom needs 20.
If you or anyone you know is willing to give a pint of blood, is male, and AB- please advise ASAP. They can give blood at any Red Cross Blood Donation center (to find one call 1-800-448-3543) and specify their donation be directed to:
