Comedy Clubs in Louisville

by Robin F. » Thu Jun 26, 2008 1:45 pm

Calling all Louisville history buffs! I'm preparing for a show tomrrow on the business of comedy and we were just trying to remember comedy clubs in Louisville that have come and gone. Any memories out there? I seem to recall a club called Coconuts - maybe on Bishop Lane? Of course, the Comedy Caravan is still going strong.

Recollections?

Thanks!

Wasn't there one in the St. Matthews Mall? Before the food court, they had a Max & Erma (all of the tables had phones at them) and I think that there was a comedy club located there too. But that would have been in the late 70's to early 80's...I think.

Was that one called "Shirley's" or "Squirrelys" or something like that?
