Wild Flower Seeds

Can anyone tell us where is a good place to get indigenous (to KY) wild flower seeds? I haven't seen seeds at any of the Farmers' Markets. Thought about Creation Gardens, but haven't checked them out yet. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I would try Thienemans off of Taylorsville Road.

I have come across Drop Seed Nursery on my research of rain gardens. I have not visited Drop Seed yet, but looks like they have native plants and seeds, according to their website.

You can go to Wal Mart and tey sell a mix of them in a small can....a few years ago I sprinkled them in an island and they still look great year after year.....and the birds love it too.... :)

I think the point was they wer looking for NATIVE or INDIGENOUS plant seeds. I would check with your county extension agent and get a soil test done first so you know what type of plants work best with your soil conditions. I would also bet they can point you in the right direction for a native seed source. I recall the state had some programs out there to help reseed natives.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Horton's Hardware in the Douglas Loop had native seeds/plants advertised in their window.

The nature center across the street from the zoo had a native plant sale last year around this time. I'm not sure about seeds, but at least you can get an idea. They may sell seeds anyway, but I don't remember there being a giftshop.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I used to walk to Horton's Hardware, and whatever it was called before it changed ownership. I always loved the Loop, especially when it had so many of the businesses that had been there forever. I always liked to try and give them my business to keep them around, so I will see what they have available.
