Replacement ring for patio table

by Michelle R. » Mon Apr 21, 2008 10:01 am

you know, the little rubber or plastic thingie that keeps the umbrella from chipping the glass? Anyone know where I can find one locally? I've found them on the internet, ranging from $2-$4, but every store I've called locally acts like they have no idea what I'm talking about, or has no suggestion where to go. I was hoping maybe someone had seen them for sale somewhere.

Just taking a stab here, but have you tried an old-fashioned neighborhood hardware store? They generally do an amazing job of either finding odd parts or inventing something that will work.

Go to a hardware store and ask for a knock-out bushing for electrical panels or boxes. Measure the hole and ask for that size. It will work just as well if not better. You usually have to go the manufacturer for that part so most stores probably won't sell those by themselves.

It wouldn't surprise me if you had. I called them yesterday, since there is literally one across the street from where I work, and the guy had NO CLUE what I was talking about. I might go there during lunch to see if I can find one, myself.
