Pet sitter

by carla griffin » Thu Apr 10, 2008 6:54 am

OK, you folks certainly did right by me with your vacuum cleaner recommendations , does anyone know a good, reputable pet sitter? I'll be needing someone in June to sit 2 cats for about a week. The boys will need once-a-day care. Someone close to Crestwood would be ideal.Someone to feed, water, litterbox duty , and to make sure the boys don't throw any wild parties or get online and start ordering cat-porn.
Suggestions? :?:

My friend Linda Wilbert has recommended to our members a friend of hers -- Connie Barry -- who started a pet sitting and dog walking service in the Fern Creek, Highview, Hikes Point, Hurstbourne and J’Town areas:
Barry’s Barking Buddies
(502) 905-6952
“Insured through Pet Sitters Association and providing professional pet care services”

If they can't help you, maybe they can recommend someone else who can.

Thanks Lois. I was kinda looking for someone that wouldn't have to drive so far but I'll give her a call.

Carla,

I have used Suzie Hernandez (she was one of about four pet sitters featured in the CJ a year or so ago). She didn't mind coming to my house in Shelby County. If you want a phone number or email just PM me and I'll provide it rather than posting either online. (She kept my two crazy kitties from ordering any cat-porn, too, although I noticed some odd charges on my Amex to Petsmart!)

I absolutely, 100%, reco Erica Scott! She is trustworthy, dependable, and LOVES animals.
Here is her website: http://www.pitterpatterpet.com

She has been my dog's daily walker for 2 years now. She goes the extra mile to be sure your pet is taken well care of.

Erica lives in the Pee Wee Valley area and all of her customers are East End/Oldham County.

Cannot say enough good things about her!

Just tried to call Barry's Barking Buddies on 2/26/09. They are no longer in business.

Has anyone used Cosmo Pet Sitting or Pet Love Pet Sitters? I need someone who services St. Matthews. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Carla,

Don't put me at the top of the hit parade...but if you get in a bind and can't find anyone else give Becky and I a call (PM me for the number). I'm still in the retired mode, live just down the road and we don't mind helping out a friend.

Laura Shine from WFPK used to have a pet sitting service. Try calling the station to see if she still does it! Excellent choice.

Thank you thank you everyone. Since my original post I did use one of the recommended home sitters. (It was not a positive experience.) And also boarded them with a pet kennel on Hwy 146 close to Berrytown. (The name escapes me just now.) THAT was a positive experience. I will most likely let the boys stay there when I take future out of town trips.
Steve, thank you for being so generous to offer your assistance. It was very kind of you.

We have used Brenda Thurston for Tizi since I moved here and she has been excellent.
