Looking for Box Springs

by Beth K. » Fri Feb 15, 2008 4:00 pm

I am looking for a new set of split box springs for a queen size bed. (I have a low stairway that I can fit the mattress up but not the boxspring.)

I can't find a furniture store that will split the set because they say it voids the warranty. I really don't want to have to buy a new set.

Any suggestions?

If you want to look around a little before you jump, Beth, Gittings Bedding Co. on East Market Street (a near neighbor of Mayan Cafe!) is an old, reliable, Louisville-based firm that makes box springs and bedding sets. I'm sure they could accommodate this request for you or others who may see this thread later.

You might also consider a "low profile" box spring which is two inches smaller than a standard size. That's what we got since the queen sized box springs wouldn't make the turn up the stairs in our old house.
