Horseback Riding for Kids?

by RonnieD » Thu Feb 25, 2016 7:49 pm

My 3 year old is desperate to ride a horse. No real idea why, but he's on about it all the time. Is there anywhere in town to get a small child started with horses. (I grew up on a farm with about 25 head, so it was never a problem for me)

Ronnie, I'm sorry that I missed this, but you may still want an answer. I've been riding for over 20 years now, at various barns and programs, and I can tell you that the quality varies quite a bit. I recommend, without any reservation, Louisville Equestrian Center. They are out off Bardstown near Shepherdsville. Meg and Anna teach the little ones, and are fantastic. The horses are well-trained and the instructors are safety conscious. Call them at 477-0830. Try to call between 11:30 and 1:30 (If they have any weakness, it is calling new people back). Website is www.louisvilleequestriancenter.com
