Recipe Card Box

by Gary Guss » Fri Dec 07, 2007 11:03 pm

Anybody know of a source for these things, we have a newlywed and a daughter who recently started up housekeeping and we want to give them a recipe box with our favorites in there so they can make them now that they are on their own. We've been looking but not with a lot of success.

Thanks,

Gary

Try Bed Bath And Beyond. I think I got mine there.

Gary, that's a great idea - I would love that gift. May I suggest a binder though? I have all of my recipes in a binder which is convenient, because they all stay in the binder and don't get lost or dirty. Also, the big pages make the writing easier to read for long recipes. I'm sure what ever you get them would be great!

Instead of getting a box, I gave a girlfriend a photo album (it had a hard plastic cover on it) the one with two picture slots per page and added my favorite recipes. Plus it's spill and splatter proof. Also great for those recipes you get copies of or out of a magazine, you just fold them up and they fit perfect in the picture slots! Plus, it much easier to find what your looking for! The album I found was pink with a cute little cake on the front, so it was perfect.

As each of my cousins gets married, my granny has given us all a photo-album type recipe book filled with all of the favorite family recipes. I absolutely cherish mine!! I think this is an awesome idea no matter if you go with a box or a book.

I was at Michael's yesterday and say that they had photo storage boxes on sale in a WIDE variety of styles....These would make great recipe box holders....
