Pick up of donated furniture

by Gayle DeM » Thu Nov 29, 2007 10:30 am

I have an almost new Lazy-Boy relciner that belonged to my mother. I bought it for her three years ago, so used it at most once a day for six months, before she died. I would like to donate it, but I will need to donate to a non-profit with pick-up service. I called the Habitat-Restore, but they charge $10 and can't schedule me until after the New Year.

I know I'm cheap, but I hate to pay $10 for a recliner that cost $600+, and anyway, I need it out of here!

I do have people that would gladly come take it for there own homes, but I would prefer to donate it to a non-profit.

Any ideas?

I donated several rooms of furniture to Catholic Charities and picked it up for no charge. Chris Clements is in charge of donations.

If none of the non-profits come through for you, then I would love to take it off your hands. I will come pick it up and it will go to a good home....PM me as a last resort if it comes to that!!!!
