In many places in the country that have heavy leaf fall they use chains instead of gutters to direct water runoff. You are so pro "chain" I was surprised you did not think of this already.

Our house already had Gutter Helmet when we moved in - we have very heavy leaf fall and we've been very thankful to have the guard. It's done it's job perfectly. Since it was already installed here I can't say much about the local authorized dealer, but we've had no complaints about the product, that's for sure.

I'm curious about this myself...

I will most definitely have to replace the gutters on my abode next spring and could use a recommendation as well....

There are several options to choose from and they all seem to cost about the same to me (give or take a few hundred bucks)

I just cleaned out the gutters and really would like anyone's opinion about what is out there...

I have a large pine tree on one side of the house and I'm wondering if any "gutter guard" product can even help me.

Well Dan I went with The Gutter Magician....502-267-1012. They install a cover that is held in place with brackets in the gutter...no shingles are moved at all. They have a web site http://www.guttermagician.com . I did not need new gutters as mine are in great shape. If yours are in good condition this may be the way to go.... Plus they are locally owned and operated...they are NOT a Chain.....Did I say that.....What i like about them is that they are installed under the drip edge and not under the shingle. :D :D

Does anyone know about the Foam Gutter thing?...

This seems like the cheapest way to go and would probably deflect all of the pine needles that I have to deal with....

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated...

I would not install foam in the gutters...If there is any water in the foam and goes below freezing...That would put a lot of weight on your gutters...I think the foam is a bad idea for places that get below freezing...like us.....
