We use Robbins- they've always been dependable and trustworthy.

Does Robbins provide 24x7 emergency service? We found out to our horror late one winter night when a circuit board went out on our furnace that the company we were THEN using turned its calls over to an answering service at night, and it simply made appointments for service the next day. :P

We immediately switched to a different local firm that offers true 24x7 service, but we've found that they are a little bit pushy about showing us things on our seven-year-old furnace and central air that feel like they're trying to scare us into replacing them. While we're at it, anybody have recommendations for a complete AC/Furnace replacement contractor in a 50+ year old home? The AC died last month (bought a couple 14,000 BTU portables) and the furnace is original to the house. It's going to run 5-10K, so I'd like to get prices.
