St. Francis of Assisi MINI-FARMER's MARKET and COMMON GOOD GLEANING PROJECT

Sunday, July 15, 2012

10:00am

1960 Bardstown Road, Louisville Ky

Mini-Farmer's Market PRODUCE GROWN BY LOCAL REFUGEES

WHAT: The Growing Forward mini-Farmer's Market features organic produce raised by local refugees from Somalia and Bhutan AND prepared foods (when available) such as sambusas (Somali meat pastries) and lemon/lime mint juleps! 100% of all proceeds are returned immediately to the refugees who grow the vegetables.

The Common Good Gleaning Project is a produce drop-off point where you may bring surplus fresh and healthy produce grown in YOUR garden (or eggs from your chickens) so that it may be re-distributed to local homeless shelters or used to help refugees from Catholic Charities who face food and financial insecurity.

WHEN: Every Sunday from 10:00 - 12:00 from July 8- September

WHY: The vegetables and food are healthy and delicious! Participation in the market and/or in the Gleaning Project allows us all to extend our energies towards social justice.

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT THE REFUGEES FROM CATHOLIC CHARITIES AND...TELL YOUR FRIENDS!
