Senior Education

by GaryF » Wed Oct 31, 2007 12:49 pm

A dear friend of mine just turned 60 and is in a dead end job. She has management skills but feels she needs training on various computer programs to make her more attractive to employers.
Are there any low cost programs for training seniors? I know in other states once the magic 60 is hit there are a wealth of re-training programs- I just don't know if that is true here in KY .

The "magic age" in KY is 65. From the U of L website:

Senior Citizen Tuition Remission
The University offers tuition remission to individuals who are classified by Admissions as residents of Kentucky and are at least 65 years of age on, or before, the first day of classes for the semester. Special costs, such as course fees and parking, are not covered by this program and are the financial responsibility of the student. Proof of age may be shown by presenting a driver’s license or other age verification document at the Office of the Bursar.
